With all my other themes, i could physically edit the code within the
header and footer pages provided, but since i've used AutoTheme (my theme
requires it), i can't access banner details, how would i go about changing
the size of the banner within the code, and where do i look for the file
that has this code?

Depends on what CMS you're using I guess.
