I want to configure my active theme, AutoTheme, when I go to configure it I
get the following message:
NOTICE: This theme is currently set as the active theme. Editing the active
theme could have adverse effects and is not recommended. You should copy
this theme to a new theme directory and edit that copy!
I understand I do not want to edit the running theme like this but, what
directories do I need to copy? Then how do I utilize the tools of
AutoTheme to easily edit this theme?
Would a way to do it be to make a copy of the /themes/AutoTheme/ directory.
Then switch the theme to AutoPrint and then go on to configure AutoTheme?
Would that be the easiest way?

You can configure your active theme, that's just a warning that applies if
you don't know what you are doing. The best thing to do would be to enter
a new theme name and click the Example button to create a new theme from an
example, or just copy the themes/AutoTheme/ dir to a new themes/MyTheme/
dir and configure that one.
