Hi there,
Is there any reason the module's user UI functions aren't written in the
new module style? Somebody asked me if PostWrap could be displayed using
Block-o-matic.
At first I thought that it could as any pnAPI compliant module, but then I
realized that it still uses the old style index.php.
I went ahead I recoded it as pnuser.php, though. Everything seems
to work fine and PostWrap can be displayed as a block with Block-o-matic.
But I still wonder if I hadn't missed something (the only obvious problem
with having it done as pnuse.php is that the IFrame's content is always
buffered). And if there aren't any techinical reasons, would you be
interested in integrating this new pnuser.php into your package?
thanks

Mainly because it is easier to code and easier to port to other CMSs using
index.php. Sorry, I haven't heard of block-o-matic.
Some stuff I do may be pnAPI compliant and/or be coded to the new styles of
doing things, but until there is a major advantage, it's like learning a
whole new language and then having major pains porting to other CMSs.
I think PN is by far the best and may consider coding to the API when it is
mature, documented and provides benefits that outway the learning curve and
differences from other CMSs.
That being said, I would be happy to receive any improvements that you may
have and am greatful for your contributions.
Thanks!
Shawn
